How does the one-time payment work?
You pay once for the PlikShare License, and you get lifetime access to the software. This includes the right to use the software indefinitely and access to all minor updates (e.g., from version 1.1 to 1.2). Major version upgrades (e.g., from version 1.x to 2.0) may require an additional purchase, but this is optional.
What happens after I buy PlikShare?
After purchasing PlikShare, the process unfolds as follows:
- You will receive an email containing a unique individual link to view your license details.
- Clicking this link will direct you to a page where you can see your license information.
- To activate your license, you'll need to specify the domain name where your PlikShare instance will be hosted.
- Important: You must carefully enter the domain/subdomain name (e.g., "example.com", "files.example.com") in the provided field. This step is crucial because the domain cannot be changed after activation.
- After entering the domain name, double-check its accuracy. Once you're certain, click the "Activate License" button to complete the process.
- Your license will then be permanently bound to the specified domain and cannot be transferred to a different domain.
- You can than copy your license, and paste it in the right "General Settings" section of you PlikShare instance to unlock it's full functionality.
Note: It's crucial to use the correct domain when activating your license, as it cannot be changed later. Please ensure you're using the final domain name for your PlikShare instance before proceeding with activation.
What does "self-hosted" mean?
Self-hosted means you install and run PlikShare on your own servers or cloud infrastructure. This gives you complete control over your data and file-sharing environment. You're not reliant on our servers or subject to our potential downtime or policy changes.
